The Briar Cliff Review Announces “Fiction, Poetry and Creative Nonfiction Contest”

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University’s award-winning literary magazine, The Briar Cliff Review, announces its Thirteenth Annual National “Fiction, Poetry and Creative Nonfiction Contest.”

First-place contest winners in each category will receive $1,000 in addition to publication in the Spring 2009 edition. Manuscript deadline is Nov. 1, 2008. Entries will be judged by the editors of The Briar Cliff Review. Last year’s contest received more than 2,000 entries from across the U.S. and around the world.

Writers also are encouraged to submit manuscripts to be considered for publication in the “Siouxland” section of the magazine. Siouxland submissions would be historical and/or contemporary articles or photo-essays concerning the culture or environment of Northwest Iowa, Southeast South Dakota and Northeast Nebraska.
